Our 1983 Range Rover Classic 4 door automatic is a rare breed. In September of 1982 Range Rover North America Inc released a price list for the first official dip into the US market 5 years before the official launch of the Range Rover Classic in North America. It coincidentally was the first year that the Range Rover was offered with an automatic gearbox. With an original MSRP of 29,493.61 without any options, the Range Rover classic 4 door Auto was nearly $10,000 more than the next comparable 4x4 offered to the American: a fully loaded Jeep Wagoneer.  Sales were minimal, as the American market already had many offerings in the same category. Our 1983 Range Rover Classic was one of those vehicles imported new to the US by Range Rover N.A. INC.  It’s a highly optioned model with (dealer installed) air conditioning, wood door cappings, lamp guard protectors, rear seat headrests, center console box, full length carpeting, and Cibie spot lamps.
